The Blackened "Shade to Black S84" is a follow-up collaboration with James Hetfield as an homage to Metallica’s song “Fade to Black," and a follow-up hit to the original Blackened M81 Maduro.

This lighter version produces a smooth, creamy smoking session that is well-balanced, with hints of leather and spice, along with a touch of sweetness. Its intriguing internal blend consists of a USA-bred Connecticut Broadleaf binder and a filler mixture made of Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania Broadleaf maduro leaves, all covered by a warm Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper. This medium-strength smoke is renowned for producing both nuanced and not-so-subtle flavors that are sure to get any metalhead banging!

"Blackened M81” by Drew Estate is a passion project that brings together three immensely talented and vastly experienced cigar enthusiasts—Jonathan Drew, Founder and President of Drew Estate; James Hetfield, Metallica co-founder, singer and guitarist; and Rob Dietrich, the Master Distiller and Blender of BLACKENED American Whiskey. The collaboration began with Hetfield and Dietrich, who frequently enjoy cigars together.

This cigar represents a journey through different Maduro leaves, starting with a thick and oily Maduro wrapper that’s grown in the rich volcanic soil of Mexico’s San Andres Valley. The blend includes a meaty Connecticut River Valley Broadleaf Maduro binder and a filler blend of Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro tobaccos, including the boldest Pennsylvania ligero in Drew Estate’s vast tobacco inventory. Maduro to the Core, BLACKENED Cigars “M81” by Drew Estate is dark, bold, rich, and powerful, with alluring notes of espresso, leather, and dark chocolate.

Tasting Notes:

Made with the unique fire curing process, as opposed to the traditional air curing, this cigar smokes beautifully. Slightly sweet with a medium heft, one could expect notes of sweet tobacco, oak and molasses.

Tasting Notes:

If you're looking for a unique smoking experience, look no further. As the name states, the tobacco is fire cured, and it packs a punch. Exploding with hefty flavors of oak, hickory, and maple, with malty mocha and herbal notes to follow, this blend is built to coat the taste buds and keep you coming back for more.

Tasting Notes:

This 91 rated cigar was described as bright and creamy... zesty with touches of lemon peel and dried orange. It's also sweet, with a very prominent note of honey on the palate. From Drew State it's wonderfully crafted with Dominican fillers and finished with a lighter Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper.

This cigar is a medium-to-full bodied masterpiece with a spicy profile tempered by a tobacco sweetness. It has been constructed with some of the same tobaccos as the renowned Liga Privada. The Undercrown was an invention of the torcedores as the Liga Privada's resources began to run out. This wonderful spin-off was the consequence of their need for anything to resemble smoking while they were at work. It has Nicaraguan binder, Brazilian and Nicaraguan fillers, and a delicious San Andres Maduro wrapper.

Drew Estate added a second line to the Nica Rustica brand called Adobe. According to Jonathan Drew, president and co-founder of Drew Estate, “Nica Rustica Adobe presents a daring adventure into the authentically rugged and rustic countryside surrounding Estelí, and offers smokers a glimpse into the distinguished beauty and bold character of Estelí and her people. You don’t need a passport to experience Estelí … just spark up this six-buck-chuck and you are magically transported to our proud Nicaraguan home.”

With a rustic Ecuadorian seed Habano wrapper, a Brazilian binder, and estate grown long fillers from Estel and Jalapa—two of Nicaragua's best tobacco growing regions—the cigars are carefully created. A medium- to full-bodied cigar with strong flavors of wood, black pepper, sweet spice, and leather, Nica Rustica Adobe is the ideal match for seasoned cigar connoisseurs.

The most recent vixen to join the renowned Deadwood Tobacco Company lineup from Drew Estate is "The Girl With No Name." This cigar provides a mild-strength, long, lean smoke with a pleasant, aromatic flavor with not-so-veiled notes of wood, leather, coffee, and sweetness. A filler and binder composed of premium tobaccos from unknown sources are concealed by its light-brown Mexican San Andres wrapper.

This stick is masterful crafted in La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Nicaragua, and is ideal for new smokers and lovers of the Deadwood brand since it has all of those aromatic and exotic spiced tobacco notes plus a sweetened cap.

Tasting Notes:

With the story behind this brand being that some of the tobacco for each cigar was grown on a 20 acre farm in central Florida, uniqueness is sure to follow. This cigar is a delight to the senses. Aromas of cedar and honey bring out flavors of citrus and cinnamon, followed by a fat scoop of creamy meringue. Deficiently not your average shade-grown cigar!

In 2018, master blender Willy Herrera created the outstanding Herrera Estelí line of cigars for Drew Estate, one of which includes the Herrera Estelí Brazilian Maduro. Strong and rich, this cigar has distinct notes of citrus, coffee, cocoa, and pepper. Packing an all-Nicaraguan filler, a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and an oily Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper, this robust stogie packs plenty of powerful flavors to appease even the most hardcore cigar smoker's palate.

The "Macanudo Estate Reserve Flint Knoll No. 2" is the second partnership between Macanudo and the Napa Valley vineyard Flint Knoll.

The cigar is made up of filler leaves from Brazil, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic, as well as a honey-colored Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper that is covered in a Connecticut Broadleaf binder. True to its name, the binder's tobacco was matured in French oak barrels that once housed Flint Knoll's 2019 Royal Appointment Cabernet Sauvignon.

This unique maturing method adds a new dimension to the cigar's already complex smoking characteristics, fortifying the cigar flavor profile with a ripe berry sweetness and strong oak tannin tastes.

Tasting Notes:

This dark cigar is pleasantly complex, hitting notes of cocoa, pepper, roasted nuts, and cashews. The uncommon box-pressed oily cigar will surely be a fan favorite.
