A Nicaraguan puro to its core, this blend utilizes six-year aged Cuban-seed wrappers and filler tobaccos hand picked from Perdomo's farms in Estelí, Condega, and Jalapa Valley. Additionally, the wrapper portion of the cigar gets an extra 10 months of bourbon barrel-aging for added aromatics and flavor. The result is a medium to full-bodied blend filled with oak tannins, vanilla, and earthen flavors, as well as hints of spice and sweetness on the finish.

Made by Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG), the same company that rolls cigars with bands bearing the names of CAO, Cohiba, Partagas, and other cigar heavy-hitters, El Rey del Mundo is a throwback brand that demands to be sampled. This oscuro provides a particularly memorable smoking experience, for it is brimming with flavors of milk chocolate, caramel, toasted hardwood, and a sprinkle of baking spice.

The H. Upmann Banker is a recreation of a blend dating back to the 1800s in Cuba in 1844, and it definitely does justice to the original. Initial pre-light flavors range from anise to leather to chocolate, with the first third continuing the chocolate notes, while mixing in some black pepper and a multitude of tannin notes. The cigar continues with a distinct nuttiness, followed by coffee, and anise all the way until a sweet and savory finish.

TASTING NOTES:

Named for the Japanese artform of repairing broken pottery with gold or silver, this cigar is a work of art itself. Bursting with flavors of all kind, one could expect to taste woodiness, chocolate, and pepper notes throughout.

In this collaboration between Warped Cigars and Aganorsa Leaf, one can expect subtle but balanced notes of tree nuts, cedar, sweet cream, and those traditional corojo tea, citrus, and spice tastes we all adore.
