For the sake of variety, we've added three very different blend options to the collection, with a hearty maduro, an unusual Sumatran, and a hybrid Connecticut-seed wrapped smoke being the three. Each one is medium-full in flavor and strength, and far fuller in body than light on the tongue.

The Foundation Olmec Maduro is a rich, full-bodied cigar inspired by the ancient civilization of Mesoamerica. Crafted at A.J. Fernandez's factory in Nicaragua, it features a dark Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper that has been grown in the same region where the Olmec tribes once resided. This leaf encapsulates a Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos plucked from Jalapa and Estelí.
To achieve the blend's deep, savory characteristics, the wrapper undergoes extended aging and low-temperature fermentation methods. This not only encourages a richer, oilier outer leaf, but also thicker, fuller smoke textures and a pronounced mouthfeel that is second to none. Tasting notes include dark chocolate, espresso, earth, hardwood, leather, pepper, and exotic spices. Thus making the Olmec Maduro an excellent choice for seasoned smokers looking for a robust, full-flavored after-dinner cigar.

The robusto version of the Aksum Claro offers a medium-powered smoke session in a compact 5" × 50 format. Featuring an unusual Sumatran-seed Claro wrapper out of Ecuador, an aromatic Connecticut broadleaf binder, and all-Nicaraguan filler leaves inside, this blend has loads of character and a much bigger body than one might expect. Flavors of cedar, cocoa, earth, spice, leather, and subtle sweetness from the creamy smoke this cigar forms all remain top tasting notes.
Named after the ancient Aksumite Kingdom in modern-day Ethiopia, the cigar reflects Foundation's passion for history, storytelling, and world travel. While strength may teeter toward medium-full, the cleanly layered cigar flavor profiles and smooth smoke textures keep things in check when it comes to potency. Here at Klaro, we find the robusto format to be particularly tasty, as it provides a slow, satisfying, concentrated smoking experience, while still showcasing the blend's creamier, earthier, and spicier nuances.

When it comes to figurado vitolas, it doesn't get much better than the Tabernacle Havana Seed CT No. 142 David in perfecto format. Measuring 5" × 54, this stubby smoke relies upon an exceptionally rare tobacco strain for both its wrapper and name: the Havana Seed CT No. 142. Placed atop a Mexican San Andrés binder, and then layered with a core that's been built entirely around Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos, this oily cigar is a must-try for fans of stronger stogies. One can expect oily, full-flavored profiles that come layered with coatings of loamy earth, dark chocolate, coffee, pepper, and a subtle sweetness.
While a larger Goliath version does exist, and a CT Broadleaf-wrapped alternative is also an option, we find this smaller vitola and wrapper combo to be the most balanced. Inspired by the Connecticut perfecto boom of the 1940s and 1950s, this tapered perfecto packs in the flavors for a bold yet nuanced smoking experience. Handcrafted at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez in Estelí, Nicaragua, this vitola will also produce one of the strongest ashes you will ever see on a cigar.
