What this creates is a 95-rated hybrid blend that capitalizes upon an extravagant mixture of dark and red tobacco strains. This bouquet produces an interesting palate of complex flavors and aromatics, with the most prominent notes being that of oak, nougat, milk chocolate, star anise, and that spicy winning combination of Criollo and Corojo '99 leaf.

If you dare to take a swing at speaking a little German, try the word Rauchvergnügen on for size. Umlaut and all, this elongated word literally translates to "smoking pleasure," and is synonymous with the joy one takes in the act.

However, since much of the world cannot spell or pronounce this word, GEC has abbreviated this blend to RVGN to make it easy on the rest of us. The blend, relies upon an Ecuadorian-grown hybrid wrapper, which covers a Dominican criollo '98 binder, as well as a combo of Dominican, Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania long-fillers.

The result is a soft little short smoke with cold draws that reveal fresh hay, green fields, and a touch of mint. Once lit, aromas of cedar wood, alpine herbs, more mint, and moist forest reinforced with notes of peat, coffee, ginger, and Szechuan pepper can all be detected.

Paradise Lost is an aged blend created by Robert Caldwell in collaboration with Room101 founder Matt Booth. It includes filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, a Dominican binder, and a San Andres Maduro wrapper. With flavors of milk, oak, pepper, and oats, this medium-bodied cigar is a perfectly balanced combination.

Tasting Notes:

This cigar is what is known as a Nicaragua puro cigar in that all of the tobacco used in the cigar was cultivated in Nicaragua. A must-have, this cigar has full flavors of molasses, coffee, and dried fruit.

Strength meets stealth, in an enigma meant to unravel. How could something so smooth be born of such raw power? A robust puro from Nicaragua encased in an oily, heavily fermented habano leaf. Shrouded in creaminess, its clawed foot and coiled tail honor its namesake: The Mighty Chupacabra. A beast of a medium-full smoke, this one comes loaded with roasted chili pepper and creamy almonds, caramelized sugars, and a burn that is borderline unbeatable.

West Tampa Tobacco offers a premium cigar that is called the Black Toro. This handmade cigar is renowned for its robust flavor profile and large Toro shape.

Brothers of the Sabre Epicurist is a new mix created to pay tribute to Gen. Antoine Charles Louis de Lasalle of France, one of Napoleon’s most fearless and brilliant light cavalry commanders who was often seen smoking a pipe. Although it is called a "sixty," this cigar that is technically classified as a gordo, and man is it densely packed! This mix uses Nicaraguan fillers, a Mexican binder, and an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. The box's artwork was remade to closely resemble the original boxes that were bought and sold in the port of Green Bay, Wisconsin, more than 120 years ago. This is their signature line, produced in small batches and released four times per year. A strong peppercorn, natural tobacco, and coffee flavor can be found, along with a meatiness. Off the foot, pepper and sweeter natural tobacco.

El Pulpo Octo Ocho is one of the most unique-looking cigars you’ll see. Three cigars with a 7" length and 38 gauge create this Culebra. This cigar is hand-rolled at AJ Fernandez's factory in Nicaragua using a blend of Nicaraguan binder and fillers. 

Tasting Notes:

Currently rated at 90 points, this cigar is marvelously constructed. With a pigtail cap, this slender stick looks just as amazing as it tastes and smells. Upon cutting, the draw is easy, and smooth, with the pre-light draw bringing forth notes of cured meats and savory herbal sauces. Lit, you will notice a creamy, darker sweetness and a tangy, spicy undertone that does not stop at any point down the length of the barrel.
