Per its overly obvious title, the Robusto Connecticut 54 x 5 PCA measures 5 inches long and sports a standard 54 ring-gauge, thus technically making it a robusto extra. Swaddled in a premium Connecticut-seed wrapper that was grown down in cloud-covered Ecuador,  this blend is a jewel of a cigar when it comes to appearances. Run your fingers across that heavy stock paper that's used to make each band, and you'll see why this tiny Dominican boutique brand is considered an all-around class act.

Inside the cigar, you will discover a Dominican Olor binder, followed by a filler mixture made entirely of Dominican leaf, with corojo, piloto, and a mystery varietal all adding intrigue and aroma to the scenario. One interesting note is that many of the tobaccos used to make this special PCA release have been aged for 10 years on average, which explains how stuffing something as potent as piloto leaf inside can result in such a smooth, mellow smoking experience.

As with all of Valentino Siesto's cigars, each stick has been rolled down at the company's factory in Tamboril, Dominican Republic, under the strict supervision of master blender, Juan Gomez. The result? A medium-powered Connecticut Shade smoke with unparalleled levels of smoke-producing performance, and a cigar flavor profile that is jam-packed with nutty, creamy, moderately spiced, and extremely aromatic nuances.  

Tobacco Nerd Note: Valentino Siesto is indeed a real person. After making his fortune as a skilled jeweler, the Italian-born entrepreneur found himself looking for a fresh start in the late 1990s. Eventually, after traveling across much of the world's top cigar-producing countries, Siesto found what he was looking for in the Dominican Republic.

While not much of a smoker or drinker at the time, Siesto became infatuated with the culture and history surrounding premium cigars and the heritage associated with them. After setting up shop in Panama City in the year 2000, Siesto set his sights on producing his own line of cigars. By 2005, Siesto had his own line of smokes being rolled for him by a third party, but not having full control over the entire operation left something to be desired when it came to quality control. 

After touring the El Hoyito Tobacco Factory in Tamboril, Dominican Republic, and meeting with master blender Juan Gomez, a decision was made to procure the factory and bring the entire operation up to Valentino's standards. By 2014, Valentino Siesto Premium Cigars was officially launched on a global scale, and over the course of the next decade, the boutique brand has expanded to markets across the globe.
