We don't know who General Cigar Co. has opted to put in charge of marketing and promotional material for Punch Cigars, but holy hell have they been on a roll as of late!
Take the latest premium cigar blend from Punch for instance, which if you order ASAP, should arrive just in time for Father’s Day 2024. Constructed to mimic a classic dual VHS box-set from the 1990s, "Dad’s Home Movies" by Punch Cigars has to be the cleverest spin we've seen thus far this year, at least in regard to how a cigar box can look and function.
As for the premium cigar blend itself, Punch “Dad’s Home Movies” is a box-pressed toro with an habano wrapper from Ecuador, binder out of Nicaragua, and a three-prong approach to a filler blender, all from Nicaragua as well. These include leaf straight out of Condega, Estelí, and the volcanic island of Ometepe in the heart of the rainforest.
Softly box-pressed, and standing at 6 inches in length with a modest 50 ring gauge, each cigar in this 10-count box receives a scribbled VHS tape label for a cigar band, which needless to say, adds even more appeal to Punch's already outstanding take on packaging and patriarchal mischief-making.
