La Aurora Best Sellers 2024 Sampler Pack: A Cigar Bundle of the Year Contender

Say hello to the La Aurora Best Sellers 2024 Sampler Pack. A 10-pack boxed bundle containing some of the best top-rated cigars from the Dominican Republic's oldest cigar maker.

But while the name does entail that these cigars are the top sellers for the La Aurora brand, there is more to this mix-pack of toro cigars than just sales figures and stellar reviews.

For instance, the box itself is pretty damn good-looking and serves as both a fetching gift idea, as well as a fitting salute to Dominican culture and all that the La Aurora brand holds dear.

And then there is the line of cigars, which contains everything outside of dark and maduro-forward and is priced to sell at just $105 per sampler. Just be sure to put in your order ASAP, because only 500 of these limited-run bundles were released this year and we were fortunate enough to snag a few.

Cibao Valley (Dominican Republic)

One of my favorite Dominican cigars of all time, the La Aurora 120th Anniversary takes puro power and pushes the envelope in how much cedar and spice you can stuff into a single smoking session. From the aromatic, stunning-looking Habana 92 leaf, to the Cibao Valley fillers from La Aurora’s own farms, this full-bodied blend is a must-try blend for fans of stronger smokes. Expect notes of cocoa, pepper, cinnamon, and a memorable finish filled with tropical fruits and coffee beans.

First released in 2010 as one of La Aurora's "107 Tobaccos of the World" collection, the 107 Nicaragua puro packs in the flavor thanks to its sun-grown Nicaraguan habano wrapper. The binder and filler combo are strong yet satisfyingly smooth, with a medium-to-full-bodied experience throughout. Prepare for a toasty experience with this one, as overtones of chocolate, leather, spice, and nuts lead you toward a light licorice aftertaste.

FILLER

Cibao Valley (Dominican Republic), Pennsylvania, Nicaragua

Arguably the most unique cigar in this sampler pack, the La Aurora ADN Dominicano pays tribute to Andullo leaf, which according to the cigar manufacturer is the oldest tobacco processing method in the Dominican Republic. Andullo tobacco is very difficult to work with, and so it has pretty much become obsolete over the years, despite being deeply rooted in Dominican culture. Strong, aromatic, and sweet, this spicy, hardwood tannin profile finishes with a graham cracker aftertaste like no other.

Dominican Republic & Nicaragua

Named after the year the wrapper debuted in La Aurora's lineup, the 1903 Cameroon remains one of the oldest and most sought-after cigars in the company's portfolio. Interestingly enough, the oily burgundy wrapper on this cigar is not grown in Cameroon, Africa, but in the misty mountains of Ecuador. An intriguing medium-strength cigar, with lots of woodsy, citrusy, floral, and pastry dough notes at every turn.

Peru, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua

Celebrating La Aurora's first use of a Connecticut Shade wrapper in 1987, this is one mellow and sweet cigar that does not disappoint when it comes to depth. This is thanks in part to a bolder blend of Nicaraguan, Peruvian, and Dominican-grown fillers inside. Impressive in its burn, and surprisingly complex, the La Aurora Connecticut 1987 delivers a creamy mouthfeel that is packed with rich cedar and a tangy taste that is akin to the taste of milk chocolate dipped candied orange peels.
