Chateau Diadem "Splendor" Hits the Humidor: A Boutique Cigar Collab With Eladio Díaz Blending Expertise

Chateau Diadem, the smallest boutique cigar maker that Klaro stocks, was back in a big way at PCA 2026, this time with a brand-new blend and a fresh bit of backstory. Apparently, Eladio Díaz, the former master blender for Davidoff, has his own factory right around the corner from Chateau Diadem, which, needless to say, is quite serendipitous.

When Chateau Diadem's co-founder, Emily Sahakian, got word that Mr. Díaz would be interested in collaborating on a blend, she jumped at the chance. Having tobacco blending royalty residing next door is one thing, but having them say that they would help you formulate an all-new premium cigar blend is a whole other level of privilege.

The cigar is called Splendor. A robusto extra that packs four kinds of Dominican leaves into the filler section, then places a Mexican San Andrés binder atop them, before finishing it all with an Ecuadorian corojo wrapper. Together, this blend creates a medium-powered smoke that has received an additional year of aging post-production for added balance and smoothness. And just like Certitude, all of the marketing and packaging design work was done in-house by Emily Sahakian.

While a full-blown Klaro Review of Splendor is on the calendar for 2026, we wanted to give all of you the chance to smoke it first and provide us with a bit of feedback. This is a very different cigar from the micro brand's other blend, Certitude. Which we found to be far stronger, soil-centric, peppery, leather-like, and mineral-rich.

Instead, Splendor favors a far more milky, medium-bodied approach to cigar blending, with cinnamon, nutmeg, dark chocolate, roasted peanuts, salted toffee, and a creamy sweetness rounding it all out. Being that the wrapper is "cloud-grown" down in Ecuador, the cigar flavor profiles that the outer leaf produces are quite a bit different than what one might expect. So, don't expect a spicy red leaf fire bomb served with a side of sweet tea with lemon with this one.

Sophisticated and approachable, veteran cigar smokers and newer tobacco enthusiasts alike are going to admire how Chateau Diadem's Splendor hits on a whole other level. All without the fiery spice one might expect from a corojo smoke.
