2026 Winter Short Smoke Six Pack Now on Sale: Cold Weather Calls for Small Cigars

After extensive amounts of scientific research, which involved smoking cigars outside in the bitter cold, we here at Klaro have concluded that winter weather calls for either one of two forms of action:

1. Stop smoking cigars entirely and wait until spring.

2. Forego full-size cigars entirely and opt to puff short stogies for the time being.

Personally, we like the sound of the second option a hell of a lot more. So, here's a brand-new Winter Short Smoke Six Pack brimming with stubby boutique blends from some of our favorite small-business cigar manufacturers. All of which have been tested, reviewed, and Klaro-approved. So happy smoking ya'll, and don't forget your fuzzy earmuffs.

Tobacco Nerd Note: Don't forget to dry box your cigars in winter. The process of temporarily removing a cigar from the higher humidity within that box prior to smoking can mean the difference between a beautiful burn and a smoldering mess. For more on this crucial tobacco-related topic, be sure to read "The Art of Dry Boxing Cigars" for a quick crash course on the subject, and don't forget to pick up a Spanish cedar-lined Maxwell travel humidor to make the process even easier.

After conducting a review of the Cachitos Connecticut, I must confess that it has quickly become one of my favorite new Connecticut Shade quick smokes. This tiny robusto measures just 4" long and packs a midsize 50 ring-gauge, making it the ideal size for those needing a quick smoke break. This is very much a medium-bodied cigar, with that hay-colored Connecticut River Valley wrapper being the only thing about this blend that is light. In fact, we found that the premium Nicaraguan tobaccos from Jalapa and Condega that are stuffed inside are rather rich and extremely rewarding, making this budget-friendly blend an ideal option for breakfast breaks and dog walks, and not just cold-weather puffing.

Luciano Cigars Foreign Affair

Foreign Affair by Luciano Cigars features tobaccos from four countries, resulting in a wonderfully balanced cigar flavor profile that does not hold back when it comes to exotic spices and tropical notes. Furthermore, in our review of Foreign Affair, we found that it featured lots of ginger and buttery cookie tastes and aromas to boot, along with nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, hints of honey, crushed almond, and sweet graham cracker. Crafted in Nicaragua, this cigar sports a Sumatran wrapper out of Ecuador on the outside, and filler that contains at least one leaf from Costa Rica for that special "X factor." A solid option for anyone in need of a smaller cigar that packs extra spice.

Partagas Cortado

Although it may have originally been assessed way back in 2023, the Klaro take on the Partagas Cortado remains unchanged: This slender stick kicks a whole ton of ass. The reason for our infatuation with this smoke starts with the fact that this blend completely bucks the Partagas stereotype that the brand only rolls dark, oily, bold cigars. Instead, the Cortado offers a lighter-bodied experience that does not compromise when it comes to flavor, construction, and aromatics. That is because beneath the cigar's Connecticut Shade wrapper sits a fragrant Indonesian binder, and an intensely aromatic filler mixture featuring leaves from Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua.

Easily the strongest, darkest premium cigar blend in the 2026 Winter Short Smoke Six Pack, the stick you see here is a maduro-loaded riot for the senses. Over the years, smokers have found our assessment of Super Fly to be right on the money, as it is just as flamboyant as it is flavorful, with filler leaves hailing from the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Nicaragua setting a backdrop for the jet-black San Andrés wrapper on the outside to work its jive upon. While our review of Super Fly was not conducted outdoors in winter, it is still a smaller version of the cigar that we stock, and one that comes filled with creamy oatmeal, dank soil, tree nuts, bittersweet cocoa, leather, hay, vanilla, and plenty of funk in the trunk.

Warped Isla del Cocodrilo

Although it may be an all-Nicaraguan-filled cigar, this stogie packs not one, but two binders, with an Ecuadorian Habano 2000 strain and a Brazilian Arapiraca leaf playing the dynamic duo. Clad in a "deflowered" Ecuadorian Habano Deflorada wrapper, this is one of those medium-to-fuller-bodied cigars that looks like a lightweight, but is secretly packing down below. With rich notes of cedar and earth up front, and hints of spice and vanilla on the finish, this blend is just as much about aroma as it is about flavor and transitional moments. Be sure to check out our review of Isla del Cocodrilo for more information on this sensationally tasty short smoke.

As the black sheep in the bundle, this Ecuadorian Maduro wrapped blend blurs the lines between dark and light by combining non-traditional cigar flavor profiles with traditional fermented dark cigar notes. A cigar that is strong in a full-flavored Nicaraguan sense of the word, but also bright and refreshing, thanks to the body and aromatics being a bit more playful than forceful. We don't want to spoil the surprise, so be sure to check out our review of the Killer Bee for more details about this candela-accented oddity.
