Not bad but not great

I had such high expectations after hearing this was the cigar coming out of the trade show that wowed everyone. Experience around smoking makes up overall feeling. It was cold at my house and not the best idea to be sitting out at night. Very nice looking cigar but once I cut and removed foot ring it started to peel in 2 places. It never fell apart but not what I wanted either. Had an even burn. Only one minor touch up needed. Big ash but flaky. I would look at my sweatshirt and see little ash flakes. Didn't love that. The draw was a little looser than I like and in the final 3rd became very loose. As far as taste I didn't pickup what others did. It was a mild tobacco/pepper taste for the first 2 inches. Then I noticed earthy sweetness. More chocolate than anything although there was some cream, definite nuttiness and a little woody (maybe cedar). The final third some of the sweetness disappeared and pepper/spice came back. I can only compare to another mild+ cigar that I recently had (20 Acre Farm). That stick I found to be much more enjoyable. This I would rank a solid 3 out of 5. I would smoke again. Maybe if I got a better constructed stick I would have enjoyed better.

Decent but expecting more

When I read this was the best cigar at the show I was super excited to try. Good: Even burn. Lasted 90 min. Only needed 1 minor touch up. Bad: I unlike most didn't like the wrapper. Mine was flaky. From the moment I cut it it started peeling at foot and head. Also although it held it's ash it was flaky. Taste. It was OK. First inch not much flavor. Then it came. Nice chocolate nutty flavor. A little creaminess but not much. Also tasted a hint of wood but not much. Final 3rd I did taste some mild pepper with the nut and chocolate. It was a mild+ smoke. Not a bad cigar. Would try again but not my favorite.

fantastic

Part of my monthly sub and it was just as described, a sweet spicy smoke. It also had a great draw and burn. Would definitely like to have another of these! Casa Magna D. Magnus II
