Fresh off the shipping dock, and stuffed safely into the Klaro Cigars walk-in humidor in sunny Indianapolis, comes a slew of brand-new stogie options from Kristoff Cigars.

While we have thoroughly enjoyed our time with the sultry Sumatra from Kristoff, and will never get enough of the utterly outstanding Corojo Limitada, we haven't stocked much else from the boutique brand over the years. 

So at PCA 2025, we saddled up to the Kristoff counter, ponied up some pesos, and secured a select few choice offerings to add to the ever-expanding Klaro portfolio. Some of these blends you may be familiar with, others might be completely new to you. Hell, we even threw a few sampler packs into the mix to allow you to smoke around a bit and see what strikes your fancy. Either way, Kristoff continues to crank out some of the smoothest cigars money can buy, and after two decades in the biz, we can confidently say that they are here to stay! 

Oh, and if you ever happen to be at a cigar event and Kristoff's founder, Glen Case, is in attendance, take a moment to chat with him. He is without question one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, and is one of the few OG gringos who was able to turn small-batch tobacco blending into a successful boutique cigar brand.

Kristoff Tres Compadres

Awarded #1 as the "Top Boutique Cigar of 2024" over at Enthusiast Report, Tres Compadres is a very special cigar that has been crafted to celebrate the camaraderie found between close friends. Sourced purely from the finest tobaccos grown down in Nicaragua, the top-tier selection of leaf used to create this cigar forms a rich, complex experience accentuated by notes of sweet cedar, toasted almond, mild baking spice, and a creamy finish.

Unlike other Nicaraguan puro cigars that are full of spicy characteristics, Tres Compadres is milder in strength and more medium-bodied, and prefers to hit your tongue with flavor more than anything else. A must-try cigar for anyone looking for an extremely smooth smoking session.

Tobacco Nerd Note: Tres Compadres is a special tribute cigar meant to honor three men. Kristoff Cigars' founder, Glen Case, and two of his best friends, both of whom have passed away in recent years. One of these is Rolando Villamil, a close "compadre" and one of Case's greatest cigar mentors. The other is Chuck Finch, a dear friend Case had known since high school who unexpectedly died just a few months prior to Villamil. Initials of all three men emblazon the upper band of the cigar in gold lettering.

Kristoff Guardrail

The Kristoff Guardrail pays homage to a serious motorcycle accident that left the man behind the brand in a wheelchair a few years back. While Glen is all good now, and is walking upright on his own once again, he has decided to release a cigar commemorating that detrimental day, and the free-wheeling spirit that lives inside all of us.

Guardrail is a medium-to-full-bodied cigar, primarily blended with a dark maduro leaf wrapper out of Brazil on the outside and some undisclosed strains from the Dominican Republic inside. It also features a unique tobacco strain from Zimbabwe, Africa, which to the best of our knowledge is a first of its kind in the cigar game. The result is a blend that is complex, with notes of caramel, French roast coffee, dry cocoa, sweet cedar, allspice, and a signature creamy Kristoff finish.
