La Palina KB Series is a medium to full-strength cigar with a peppery, spicy, and earthy profile with notes of mocha, apple, almonds, and leather. It has a wrapper made of Honduran Corojo, a double binder made of Honduran Criollo, and a filler made of Nicaraguan Corojo and Criollo leaves. The smoking experience is invigorating but not overwhelming. The brand's founder, Bill Paley, couldn't finish the original version because it was too powerful, hence they called it "KB" for "Kill Bill".

A very nice cigar

I really enjoyed this cigar. It had very nice flavors, none of which were too over-powering but enough to make it a complex cigar. I would say it is a medium cigar at most. First off it burns very slow so you will get a lot of enjoyment. Well over an hour. It burns even and has a nice ash. The draw was very good. Not too easy but also not ******* a golf ball through a straw tough. I like smoky cigars and this didn't disappoint. The first 2/3 had a very earthy, leathery, wood flavor with a hint of fruit. Very enjoyable. The final 3rd changed to a black pepper flavor. It retained the other flavors but they were pushed to the background. It was a nice mix of a sweet earthy flavor with a kick towards the end but it is not overpowering. A few things that were a little disappointing and maybe it was just my cigar. The final 3rd did not burn even. It went out. Easily relit with a touch up but to that point the burn was great. It burns very hot as well. My fingers were inches away from the ash and I could feel the heat. It made me put the cigar down earlier than I wanted. I have never had a cigar where the label didn't easily peel off as the ash closed in, especially with that amount of heat. I had to rip it off. Finally the draw in the final 3rd really loosened up. Way too easy so it was actually tough to get smoke. Overall though it was very enjoyable and I plan to have more.

A nice flavorful cigar

I enjoyed this cigar a lot. The flavors were not over powerful but it was complex. The burn was very nice. Even for the 1st 2/3 of the cigar. No retouching. Slow burn so you get a good amount of time with this cigar. Nice thick ash. The first 2 thirds were earthy. Leather. Definitely some wood in the flavor. A little hint of berry. Not spicy at all. The final 3rd is where the pepper kicks in and the other flavors fade a bit. It is not over powering like other peppery cigars but has a little heat. Great on a warm summer night. The final third though the burn becomes more uneven. It did go out on me but lit right back up. The draw in the first 2/3 was perfect. Wasn't too easy but wasn't an effort either. Produced a great amount of smoke which I like. The final 3rd especially towards the end loosened up quite a bit which I did not like. The cigar burns hot or at least mine did. Even when I was holding it mid cigar I could feel the heat. That was a bit problematic in the final 3rd. I put it down earlier than I would have liked. Also maybe it was just my cigar but it was the only one I have had where when closing in on the label the label didn't easily peel off which surprised me considering it was so hot. Had to rip it off. Other reviews have this as a medium to above medium cigar. I would say medium at most. It was a very nice cigar especially with a Summer Ale.

**** Bill

I’ve tried La Palina Blue and silver label and tend to like them better . **** Bill was ok but not what I expected after trying the Blue label and silver .
