About This Cigar

This Dominican puro is a blend that is fit for a king, may they be living or deceased. With notes of cedar, earth, maple syrup, earth and spice, this flavor-packed blend is one that delivers on a top-tier level.  As one of Caldwell's earliest releases, and most celebrated, The King is Dead remains one of those medium-powered cigars that never lost its momentum.

Featuring an ultra-rare "negrito" wrapper, a corojo binder, and then corojo ligero, HVA 20/20, and a pinch more negrito, this smooth sailing torpedo delivers some truly unique flavors and aromas. No wonder it made the Top 25 at Cigar Aficionado when it first launched!

Wow!!!

This was one of the best cigars I’ve had to date. What a beautiful stick. Very mild all the way through, but still full of flavor from start to finish. Not a huge change from begging to end, but the spice notes definitively develop towards the end of the second third. You will smoke this stick all the way to the end and enjoy every draw. I’d add a photo, but there is nothing left to photograph.
