The Aladino Corojo Reserva is one of my top 5 favorite cigars. The spicy coroja wrapper mixed with a black pepper and vanilla along with top grade tobacco makes this an amazing smoke that can typically only be found in Aladino lounges, and even then in limited quantities. For the month of December 2022, all Klaro Membership subscribers receive an Aladino Corojo Reserva to try.
Pre-lit
Some of the other reviewers said there was a touch of vanilla in the pre-lit draw and I might of have been able to taste a bit of that.
1st Third
The overwhelming flavor of the first third is a beautiful black pepper mix, combined with perhaps a hint of vanilla, cedar and oak. The spicy corojo wrapper really shines through here.
2nd Third
The second third this cigar continues with the spicy corojo black pepper mix, but it actually calms down quite a bit and more of the cedar and oak notes pop out. In my opinion this is the best part of the cigar with the perfect mix of black pepper, vanilla and oak.
Last Third
The spicy corojo and black pepper continue to wane into the last third providing a much more balanced smoke and finishing off with the best flavor of the cigar. It's a cigar you aren't going to want to put down until you absolutely have to.
Ash / Burn / Smoke / Draw
The draw was perfect but the burn had to be corrected a few times as it was a bit uneven. Not a show stopper but worth mentioning.
Final Thoughts
The Aladino Corojo Reserva is up there just below an Opus X on my list of top cigars, and it's much more widely available (though you'll likely still have to go to an Aladino lounge or subscribe to the Klaro Cigar Membership to get it). If you don't mind a bit of black pepper and spice, you'll want to give this cigar a try.
