This 94 rated cigar is deserving of that title. It boasts notes of wood, pepper, coffee and buttery toast, and is slow and even burning down to the nub. Take the time to enjoy this cigar to the fullest.
I grabbed one of these at my local shop. It was a smaller size. After watching YouTube I knew it was a totally different blend than the V but wanted to do a taste test. Smoked the V Double Toro first. It is one of my favorite cigars.
Then I lit up the Melanio. First 3rd honestly I didn't love. Lots of pepper. As it moved mid stick the flavors were more pronounced than the V. Definite coffee and wood. A little pepper. I felt the flavors stood out more than the V but the V had more complexity for longer. Either way you can't go wrong. Will be getting more.
I am a huge fan of the V. I know the Melanio is a totally different blend but wanted to compare the 2. The first third I didn't love but once I got into the 2nd 3rd flavors intensified and it was a very nice smoke. I had a smaller version of stick than the double Toro V's I have. Would be good to have a larger version to make true comparison but you can't go wrong with this or any Oliva stick.
This is a very aromatic cigar great taste that gets even better towards the end, I am not a connoisseur so I can’t tell you what the hints of flavor were but they were good. It was a very windy day on the golf course and the burn was good, only one touch up. Overall it was great experience from a larger ring cigar. The only detractor for me was it could have had a bit tighter draw.
